Wi-Fi Sensors price guide
Prices as listed on this page, in rupees. The bands count the 32 products that are in stock with a listed price; the other 61 are out of stock or priced on request.
How to choose
-
Start with an open stack
We recommend an open stack (Zigbee, Z-Wave or Matter): devices from different brands share one gateway (the Smartify Core LAN gateway is ₹8,100), so you can mix brands and add rooms without another app. The trade-off is that gateway and a little more setup. Zigbee, Z-Wave and Wi-Fi sensors are not interchangeable, so pick sensors that match your gateway's protocol.
-
Know what a Wi-Fi-only sensor costs you
Wi-Fi-only products, which this page labels "Wi-Fi only, no hub", connect straight to your router, so there is no gateway to buy and setup is quick. The trade-offs are that they usually work only inside that brand's app and each one adds load to your Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi-only sensors on this page are labelled and listed after the open-stack ones.
-
To switch lights automatically
Use a motion sensor. A Zigbee sensor such as Aware Motion reports to your gateway to start scenes; standalone PIR sensors, such as the WatchDog range, work on their own for a single light.
-
To know when a door or window opens
Use a door and window contact sensor, and add a vibration sensor for safes, cabinets and windows you want to watch for tampering.
-
To catch a leak or smoke early
Use leak detectors under sinks, near water tanks and behind washing machines, and install smoke sensors as the product page directs.
-
To keep a room comfortable
Use temperature, humidity and air-quality sensors to trigger an air conditioner, fan or purifier through your gateway.
Sensors: common questions
Do smart sensors need a hub?
Open-stack Zigbee and Z-Wave sensors do: they pair with a gateway (the Smartify Core LAN gateway is ₹8,100), which connects them to your lights, locks and apps and is the route we recommend. Wi-Fi-only sensors need no hub but are tied to their own app, and standalone sensors such as the WatchDog PIR range work on their own without one.
How much do smart sensors cost in India?
Sensors on this page start at ₹500. Smartify's open-stack Zigbee Aware sensors are Aware Contact (₹3,900), Aware Vibration (₹5,100) and Aware Motion (₹5,700); basic standalone PIR sensors that switch a light are the cheapest, and mmWave presence sensors cost the most.
Which sensors do I need for home security?
Door and window contact sensors cover entry points, motion sensors cover rooms, and vibration sensors cover safes, cabinets and windows. Add leak and smoke sensors for safety rather than security.
Which sensor detects a water leak?
A water leak sensor sits on the floor and reports when it gets wet. The leak detector category lists the available models, such as the Zigbee Aqara Water Leak Sensor, which is listed with an IP67 body.
How long do sensor batteries last?
It depends on the model. Smartify Aware Contact uses a CR2032 battery and Aware Motion a CR2450, both replaceable with a low-battery warning. Check the product page for the battery type and life of other sensors.
About sensors.
Smart sensors report what is happening at home: movement, an opening door, a leak, smoke or the temperature. Sensors on this page start at ₹500, and the price guide below shows what each band buys.
We recommend open-stack Zigbee sensors, which share one gateway whatever the brand. Smartify's own Aware sensors are Zigbee: Aware Contact (₹3,900), Aware Vibration (₹5,100), Aware Motion (₹5,700), Aware Wave (₹9,297) and Aware Wave Pro (₹13,050).
