Presence sensing for quieter moments

SNZB-06P uses 5.8 GHz microwave radar to detect movement and subtle activity associated with human presence. It can help a compatible automation keep lights on when someone is seated, instead of relying only on a conventional motion trigger. This is the original SNZB-06P, not the separate SNZB-06P24 model.

Add light conditions to the routine

A built-in light sensor can help the connected system decide when lighting is needed. A compatible Zigbee hub or coordinator receives the sensor’s reports and controls the actual lights through an automation. The sensor is not itself a lighting relay. Available reports and settings depend on the gateway; some gateways present it as a motion sensor. Local scenes also depend on the hub’s capabilities and configuration.

Position it for the room you want to sense

The device needs continuous USB-C power at 5 V DC and 1 A; it is not a battery sensor. The manual specifies an approximately four-metre radial detection distance and mounting at no more than two metres high. Its magnetic base supports flexible positioning. Test the final location with the room occupied and empty. Fans, moving curtains, pets and movement beyond some non-metallic partitions can affect detection, so placement matters as much as the automation timeout.

Can it directly turn a light on?

It reports presence to a compatible Zigbee system. A separate connected light or relay and a configured automation are needed to switch lighting.

Is this a security alarm detector?

It is listed here for indoor presence-based automation. Do not rely on it as the sole detector for a security or life-safety system.
