The motor provides movement and local app control; a compatible SwitchBot hub supplies the route for supported remote access and ecosystem features. If your goal is voice control or a Matter-based setup, specify that goal before choosing the hub. Solar accessories are another separate choice, and their suitability depends on placement rather than being a guaranteed replacement for all charging.

Will I need to wire a motor above the window?
