Yale YDR50GA

Yale YDR50GA

Digital access at a suitable entrance gate. YDR50GA is Yale’s gate-lock option, offering fingerprint, PIN and card credentials with mechanical override. It is relevant to projects where the gate and the main door are separate access points and need their own hardware assessment. Its rim-lock arrangement requires the gate leaf and receiving frame to provide the correct mounting and closing alignment.

Everyday access

Supported access methods: fingerprint; PIN; RFID; mechanical key; Yale Home app with kit. Choose the methods that fit the people using this doorway, then demonstrate them during installation. Digital credentials are most useful when residents understand both everyday operation and the backup procedure for their particular lock.

Key features and specifications

• Door thickness: 32–55 mm (specification table; survey required)
• Battery: AA alkaline batteries
• Emergency power: External 9 V battery
• Application: Gate lock

Compatibility and installation

Gate application is not a blanket weatherproof rating: confirm exposure suitability and mounting details for the actual location. Yale Home control needs the correct accessories. The official specification table states 32–55 mm despite broader generic prose; verify the exact unit.

For a replacement project, send photographs of both door faces, the door edge and the frame. Include the thickness, current lock model and the access methods your household wants. These details help distinguish a suitable replacement from a door that needs preparation work.

Set up for the household

Set up the owner account and any required accessories during commissioning, then test the intended local and remote functions separately. Give each regular user an appropriate credential and review access when household arrangements change.

Frequently asked questions

Will it fit my existing door?

A model name and door thickness are not enough to confirm fit. The installer also needs to check the mounting template, available clearances, strike position and the condition of the door and frame. Complete that assessment before modifying the door.

What should be confirmed before ordering?

Confirm the exact Indian-market model, finish, package contents and installation scope. Any required connectivity hardware or optional accessories should be identified in the quotation. Share your preferred access methods so the supplied configuration can be checked against them.
