WiiM Amp Ultra

An amplified system with a front display

WiiM Amp Ultra combines a network streamer, stereo power amplifier and 3.5-inch touchscreen. It is designed to drive suitable passive speakers without a separate power amplifier. WiiM rates it at 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms or 200 watts into 4 ohms, with both channels driven at the stated test condition. Confirm speaker impedance and wiring before installation.

Set up sources around the room

HDMI ARC receives television audio, while optical and RCA line inputs accept other equipment. The unit does not include Ultra’s dedicated phono input: a record player needs a suitable line-level output or a separate phono preamplifier. A powered subwoofer can connect through the mono RCA output. Source equipment, speakers and additional accessories are quoted separately.

Control playback and shape the sound

The touchscreen provides playback information and source selection, with a rotary control for physical volume adjustment. RoomFit room correction and input-specific equalisation allow the system to be configured around the speaker placement and listening position. The ESS ES9039Q2M DAC and dual TI TPA3255 amplifier chips form the audio platform. Leave ventilation space around the enclosure and complete calibration after the speakers are in place.

Plan streaming and any expansion

Set up the amplifier through the WiiM Home app over a reliable network. Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth offer connection choices, with supported streaming services and multiroom features depending on the app, firmware and subscriptions. AirPlay 2 is not supported. USB handles storage and compatible audio output; it does not accept computer audio as a USB input. Surround expansion requires an explicitly compatible WiiM configuration and current firmware, so confirm the complete speaker arrangement before treating this stereo unit as a home-theatre system.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as WiiM Ultra with extra output sockets?

No. Amp Ultra has built-in speaker amplification and a different input/output arrangement. It does not include Ultra’s dedicated phono or front headphone socket.

Can I connect more than one pair of speakers?

Only after checking the combined electrical load and wiring with the installer. Additional speakers do not create independently amplified zones.
