Era 300 supports Dolby Atmos music from compatible services and content. Its upward-firing tweeter uses ceiling reflection for height effects, so placement and room geometry influence the experience. Ordinary recordings remain ordinary recordings; spatial playback depends on the source and supported playback path.

Choose a supported spatial music source

Start with a music service and recording that support Dolby Atmos through Sonos. Bluetooth and Apple AirPlay 2 provide additional listening options, but do not assume every connection carries spatial audio. For an analogue source, add the separate Sonos Line-In Adapter and cable; wired networking requires the Sonos Combo Adapter.

Give the side and height drivers space

Place Era 300 in the open so its side-firing and upward-firing drivers can interact with the room. Avoid a tight shelf enclosure that obstructs those paths. Complete Wi-Fi onboarding in the Sonos app, then use Trueplay on a compatible iOS or Android device to tune the response. Confirm stand or wall-mount requirements separately.

Plan music and surround roles separately

Two Era 300 speakers can form a stereo pair or serve as rear surrounds with a compatible Sonos soundbar. These are different system roles, so choose the arrangement around the room and intended listening. For television sound, plan the supported soundbar connection: Era 300 has no HDMI TV input. Voice-service availability varies by country and language; the rear switch disconnects microphone power.
