A compact retrofit for an existing circuit

ZBMINIR2 is a single-channel Zigbee relay designed for concealed installation in a suitable mounting box. It connects to an external rocker switch or push button, so normal wall control can remain part of everyday use. A compatible automation system can add timed switching, group control or sensor-driven scenes after commissioning.

Build on a Zigbee network

The module needs a compatible Zigbee hub or coordinator. SONOFF lists integration routes through its gateways and Home Assistant using ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT with suitable coordinator hardware. It also acts as a Zigbee router, helping relay traffic within the mesh. Feature availability, remote access and voice control depend on the selected hub and integration; a Zigbee logo alone does not guarantee every advanced setting is exposed.

Check neutral and circuit protection first

This exact model requires both live and neutral. It is not the no-neutral ZBMINIL2. Its 10 A rating is for resistive loads, so drivers, motors and other inrush-heavy loads need a separate assessment. A qualified electrician should confirm enclosure space, conductor routing and an upstream 10 A MCB or RCBO as specified by the manufacturer. Switch-input terminals must be wired only as directed in the manual.

Will it connect straight to a Wi-Fi router?

No. Its control network is Zigbee. A compatible hub or coordinator is needed to connect it to the wider smart-home system.

Does it measure electricity use?

This listing is for on/off control and Zigbee routing. It does not include an energy-metering claim; choose a metering relay when consumption reporting is required.
