SmartNode Gate Controller SD.1G.1

The SD.1G.1 connects in parallel with a compatible gate controller’s wired open, close and stop controls. Its purpose is to add Smart Node operation to an existing motorised gate or roller shutter, while retaining the underlying motor controller and its protection functions.

What it does

The manufacturer specifies a four-wire control arrangement labelled O, C, S and C for open, close, stop and common. The manual expressly excludes two-wire NO/common gate motors from this model’s supported arrangement; an alternative solution is required for those interfaces.

Preset schedules can run without internet access. App, physical and supported voice controls are listed, alongside a configurable automatic-locking timer. Remote operation still requires the appropriate connectivity and commissioning, and a scheduled command does not replace verification that a gate can move safely.

A suitable use case is a home entrance where the wired gate controls already work reliably and the owner wants authorised app operation as an additional option. Send photographs of the existing control board and its terminal labels rather than selecting the module from the motor brand alone.

Before installation, agree how local controls, remote commands and any timed actions should interact. The installer should test the stop command, end limits, obstacle detection and power-loss recovery using the gate manufacturer’s procedure. Position the module in a dry, suitable enclosure with dependable network coverage and accessible servicing.

Compatibility and limitations

This is not a complete gate motor, a generic two-wire garage-door opener or a replacement for safety interlocks. Although the datasheet mentions dry-contact and 230 V applications, the exact interface wiring and permissible load must be matched to the supplied hardware; do not assume it can directly switch an arbitrary motor.
