SmartNode DALI Single Channel DIN Rail Gateway
The SD.DGD6401.1 connects a wired DALI lighting bus to Smart Node control. Instead of treating every fitting on a circuit identically, the installer can address compatible drivers individually and organise them around how each area is used.
What it does
The gateway supports automatic ballast addressing, group assignment and adjustable fades. DT6 and DT8 support allows brightness control and, with appropriate drivers, tunable-white or colour lighting. App monitoring helps the installer inspect the system after commissioning.
The manufacturer distinguishes 16 bus scenes from app-created lighting routines. Up to 64 schedules can target individual ballasts or groups. An all-on/all-off function provides a useful commissioning check before more detailed scenes are built.

Planning your installation
For a living-and-dining area, a sensible plan might separate downlights, wall lights and a feature pendant into distinct groups, then combine them into everyday and evening scenes. This is a suggested configuration, rather than a preloaded scene package.
Provide a luminaire schedule showing the driver type and required behaviour for each group. Decide which controls should remain available at the wall, where the electrical enclosure will be accessible for servicing, and how lighting should behave after a power interruption. These decisions make the quotation and commissioning scope much clearer.
Compatibility and limitations
DALI communicates with compatible control gear; it does not make an ordinary lamp dimmable. The address count is not a mains switching or wattage rating. Confirm the supplied gateway’s bus-power arrangement and the complete bus current budget before connecting another DALI supply.
