SmartNode DALI Dual Channel Power Supply
The PS.D.1 supplies the low-voltage DALI communication bus. Its two independent outputs let a designer power two bus segments from one device, rather than using one output indiscriminately across an entire installation.
What it does
The manufacturer specifies 16 V DC and 225 mA per channel, with thermal, over-voltage, short-circuit and overload protection. The supply includes a status indicator for commissioning and fault investigation.
Bus power must be planned separately from luminaire power. A fitting may have its own mains-fed LED driver and still need a correctly powered DALI control bus. This distinction matters when a project includes additional touch modules or relay modules that also draw current from the bus.

Planning your installation
As a planning example, a two-bus gateway serving different floors can be paired with separate powered bus segments. Ask the installer to calculate demand from every bus-powered component and allow for the manufacturer’s electrical limits. The device-address limit alone cannot tell you whether a supply has enough current.
Locate the supply in a dry, ventilated enclosure with accessible labelling. Keep the control-bus wiring identifiable during installation and servicing. For long cable runs, have the designer check cable size and voltage drop rather than relying only on the headline distance. Record which output serves which area in the handover documentation.
Compatibility and limitations
This unit is a DALI bus supply, not a constant-current or constant-voltage LED driver. Never connect mains voltage to its DALI terminals. The technical table extends the input range to 265 V AC, while the overview says 240 V AC; the supplied unit’s label must govern the final design.
