SmartNode DALI Dual Channel DIN Rail Gateway
The SD.DGD6402.1 is a DIN-rail gateway for two DALI lighting buses. Wi-Fi links commissioning and operation to Smart Node, while the lighting drivers remain on wired DALI connections. This gives a larger project separate bus segments under one control device.
What it does
Each bus supports 64 devices, with 16 groups and 16 stored bus scenes. Across both channels that means 128 addresses, 32 groups and 32 bus scenes. The app can create additional lighting routines without changing those per-bus addressing limits.
Automatic addressing and ballast-replacement support assist commissioning. DT6/DT8 control, adjustable fades and switching delays allow appropriate dimming or colour functions with compatible drivers. Status monitoring and up to 64 schedules support day-to-day operation.

Planning your installation
For example, a two-zone office could place work areas on one bus and meeting spaces on the other. A designer can then specify focused working light and presentation scenes separately. The split should follow the actual cable routes and current budget, not simply divide the device total in half.
Ask the lighting contractor to identify each fixture’s driver, bus allocation and intended group. Include space for the gateway, bus supplies and service access in the enclosure plan. A labelled schedule will make later fixture replacements easier to commission without guessing which address belongs to which room.
Compatibility and limitations
The 128-device figure is a combined maximum, not capacity on either single bus. Drivers must support the requested dimming or colour function. The datasheet specifies an external DALI supply; confirm the required supplies and what is included in the quote.
