Shelly 1PM Gen4 is a single-channel relay for bringing a suitable existing circuit into a connected home. Its AC power measurement adds context to switching: a dashboard can show when a connected load is running and how much power it is drawing. This is useful when a simple on/off state does not tell the whole story.

Choose the integration during setup

The Gen4 hardware supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Zigbee, with Matter supplied as the default profile and a selectable Zigbee profile. Choose the profile for the intended controller; these listings do not promise simultaneous Matter and Zigbee operation. Local Wi-Fi control and Shelly’s embedded web interface provide another route to commissioning and operation. Remote cloud access requires the relevant network and service connections.

Plan the electrical installation

For an AC installation the module needs a neutral conductor and enough safe space behind the switch or in a suitable enclosure. The output switches the supplied circuit; it is not a potential-free dry contact. The 16 A AC maximum is a ceiling, not blanket approval for every motor, LED driver or high-inrush appliance. A qualified electrician must assess the load, protective device, terminals and enclosure. Follow Shelly’s instructions for inductive loads, including an RC snubber where required.

Does it dim the connected light?

No. It provides on/off switching and power measurement. Choose a suitable dimming controller when brightness adjustment is required.

Can it use an existing wall switch?

Yes, it provides a switch input. The electrician must verify the existing wiring and available installation space before fitting the module.
