Product Description

Home Assistant Green

Home Assistant Green is a dedicated hub for running Home Assistant without assembling a computer or installing the operating system yourself. Connect power and Ethernet, complete onboarding, and add supported integrations. It is suited to homeowners who want dashboards and automations spanning compatible devices from different brands.

A dedicated place for your home’s automations

Green runs Home Assistant on its own hardware, so your dashboards and routines do not need to depend on leaving a personal laptop running. It arrives with Home Assistant OS installed, reducing the work needed to get started. Connect it to the network, complete onboarding and add supported integrations. It is still a configurable automation platform, so allow time to set up devices and test the routines that matter to you.

Bring compatible brands into a shared dashboard

Home Assistant can combine supported integrations into one interface, which is useful when a home has grown through separate purchases over time. A dashboard might show lights, sensors and other compatible devices together. The important word is compatible: check the specific product model and integration rather than relying only on the brand name. Some devices need their original bridge, account or additional hardware to provide the desired functions.

Start with a small routine and expand deliberately

A practical first project is a dashboard for a few existing devices and one simple automation that can be tested easily. Once that works, add further rooms or more involved conditions. Keep manual control available for important household functions and document what each routine does. This helps other members of the household use the system and makes later maintenance easier if a device is replaced or an integration changes.

Choose radios and remote access separately

Green’s Ethernet connection links it to the home network, but it does not supply built-in Zigbee, Thread or Z-Wave radios. Add compatible hardware only for the protocols you need. A supported bridge may already provide a route to some existing devices. Remote access is another planning decision: optional Home Assistant Cloud is a separate service. Local automations and third-party cloud integrations have different dependencies, so avoid assuming the entire installation works offline.

Key features

  • Home Assistant OS preinstalled
  • Rockchip RK3566 quad-core processor
  • 4 GB RAM and 32 GB eMMC storage
  • Ethernet networking and two USB 2.0 ports

Compatibility and installation

Green does not include built-in Zigbee, Thread or Z-Wave radios. Those devices need compatible adapters, bridges or border routers as appropriate. Check every intended device against its Home Assistant integration before planning a system. Some integrations run locally while others still rely on the device vendor's cloud. Matter setup requires the relevant Home Assistant services; Thread devices also need a Thread border router. Optional Home Assistant Cloud is a separate service.

Frequently asked questions

Is Home Assistant already installed?

Yes. Green is supplied with Home Assistant OS preinstalled. You still need to connect power and Ethernet, complete onboarding, add integrations and configure dashboards or automations for your own home.

Will it replace every existing hub?

Not necessarily. Some devices can connect through suitable adapters, while others depend on their manufacturer’s bridge or cloud service. Assess the exact device list before removing any existing hub from the system.

What is needed for Matter-over-Thread devices?

Home Assistant needs the relevant Matter integration and services, and Thread devices also need a suitable Thread border router. Green itself has no built-in Thread radio. Check the supported configuration before purchasing additional hardware.

Can Smartify assess an existing mixed-brand setup?

Share the model names of your hubs, switches, sensors and other devices, together with the routines you want. That gives a useful basis for checking integration options, additional hardware and commissioning scope before availability or a quotation is confirmed.
