Aqara Valve Controller T1
Aqara Valve Controller T1 is a motorised actuator that mounts to a compatible existing water valve. Instead of replacing the pipework with an electrically operated valve, it turns the existing lever or butterfly handle. With a suitable hub and automation, it can close the supply in response to a separate leak detector or a deliberate app command.
What it does
- Supports compatible DN15, DN20 and DN25 pipe/valve installations with lever or butterfly handles. Physical handle geometry and available mounting space still matter.
- Four AA batteries supply the controller, avoiding a mains cable at the valve position.
- A compatible Aqara hub can link the actuator with leak sensors and other devices for a planned shutoff routine.
- Matter-over-bridge support connects through a compatible Aqara Matter hub rather than a native Thread radio in the valve actuator.

Where it fits
A useful arrangement is to place separate water sensors near likely leak points and have a verified leak event close a suitable main or branch valve. Decide which supply should close: shutting a branch serving a washing machine may suit a different situation from closing the entire home’s inlet. Test the complete response, including the alert, valve movement and confirmation of water shutoff.
Setup and compatibility
Before ordering, provide photographs of the valve and pipework, the nominal size and clearance around the handle. The valve must move freely and match the actuator’s mounting arrangement. Pair the controller with a supported Aqara Zigbee hub, then configure and test the desired rules. Remote platform access depends on the bridge, network and ecosystem configuration.
Important details
T1 is an actuator, not a leak sensor, flow meter or replacement valve. Leak detection requires a separate sensor and a tested automation. The published pressure value is not permission to upgrade the rating of existing pipework. Indoor placement must protect the controller from direct water exposure.
