The Samsung SmartThings Monitoring & Security kit is a perfect starter bundle to start with your home automation experience. The bundle comes with one SmartThings Hub, a SmartThings motion sensor and two SmartThings multi-purpose sensors.
The SmartThings Hub is the brain of the entire system that communicates and coordinates with other SmartThing devices connected to its ZigBee network and triggers the necessary requested action. You can also integrate various other third-party devices with the SmartThings Hub and can control almost anything from it like lights, door locks, thermostats, etc.
You can also create and schedule events like turn on lights if the motion sensor detects movement in the evening, receive alerts in case the doors/windows are left open and much more.
